Pawsitive Story
Organisation & policy
Stichting Pawsitive Story is a nonprofit foundation dedicated to dogs: through spaying and neutering, we aim to prevent animal suffering at its source. We also support dogs in our foster care as they move to a suitable adoptive home. These two activities form the basis of our policy.

Our direction for 2026–2028
Prevention comes first. We want to help fund more spay and neuter procedures in Romania to tackle animal suffering at its source. We contribute to the work of local vets and partners who know the area and the dogs. We also support dogs in our own foster care as they move to suitable homes in the Netherlands. Rehoming and donor support make this combination possible.
We want to grow step by step so we can fund more procedures and help more dogs. Our resources, foster places and time for support need to grow alongside this work. Thoughtful rehoming and good aftercare remain our starting point. Our decisions also take account of the dogs already entrusted to us.
Continuing care
Every dog comes into our foster care first. There, the dog has time to settle while we learn about their personality and needs. That daily experience helps us guide introductions to adopters and preparations for a new home.
We remain involved after adoption. We stay in close contact, especially during the early weeks, to support the transition. If a placement does not work out as hoped, we discuss what is needed together. Returning to our foster care is our starting point; we carefully coordinate the practical arrangements and the dog’s care.
For dogs who cannot be rehomed because of illness or other circumstances, we provide ongoing foster care where needed. Their daily care and medical needs are also part of our responsibility. We take this into account when allocating our resources and planning our growth.
Voluntary work
Our board members receive no remuneration for their work. Only actual expenses approved in advance are reimbursed.
The policy plan for 2026–2028 is being finalised. The approved plan and financial reporting will be added once ready for publication.
